Allwell Medicare Advantage 2020
Allwell is working hard to offer a competitive, customer-focused version of Medicare Advantage that customers will love. They are one of the newer companies to sell these plans, and we want to tell you a bit about them and what the Allwell Medicare Advantage 2020 plans are able to do for you.
Medicare Advantage in a Nutshell
You may not be familiar with Medicare Advantage and what it can do to benefit you, so let’s take a moment to explain. If all of this is old news to you, then you can skip on to the next section.
First of all, Medicare Advantage is a healthcare insurance plan. It covers medical costs for you that are often not covered by other healthcare plans. This can include emergency medical services and urgently needed healthcare services and costs. It can also cover the cost of Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B. These are all part of the most basic Medicare Advantage plan.
The more extensive and comprehensive Medicare Advantage plans that Allwell and other insurers offer will cover you for routine checkups for hearing as well as for vision care. They can also cover you for Medicare Part D, which would include many prescription drug costs. Part D plans cover some or all of the costs of many generic and name brand drugs. You may also be covered for corrective lenses and hearing aids, depending on which Advantage plan you chose and which medical condition you have.
Advantage plans are only sold by private insurers like Allwell and will not be available through Medicare. Allwell and any other insurer is allowed to set their own prices on these plans and can choose what kind of Advantage plan lineup they want to offer.
This means that the prices are subject to change, so while we won’t list all the rates right here for you, there is a way to see what they are currently without having to go to each insurers individually and request a quote. You can use our site and perform a search here. The search will give you a list of results that tells you what several different insurers in your area are charging for these plans.

How You Can Enroll in an Allwell Medicare Advantage Plan
Speaking of signing up, you should know how to do that. If you are interested in a Medicare Advantage plan, then you can enroll once the enrollment period starts. This usually begins at the same time every year- October 15th. It will last until December 7th, and you have that entire nearly two-month window in which to sign up for the plan that you want. Be sure to take this time to upgrade your plan, cancel your plan, change plans and do whatever else you need to with your Medicare Advantage policy. It’s much easier to get any and all of that done during the enrollment period than it is any other time of year.
To qualify for one of these plans, you will need to have an active Medicare plan. That would be Original Medicare, and the Advantage plan will act as a replacement for it, covering you for many of the same things but allowing the Original Medicare plan to take care of the cost of hospice care for you. All other Medicare Part A and part B costs will be covered by the Advantage plan.
Allwell’s Limited Network
You should understand that Allwell cannot provide you with full coverage at every medical facility that you go to for treatment. There will be rehab centers, hospitals, clinics and more where Allwell’s plans will not be accepted. These are considered to be not part of their network, and you cannot get full coverage there. You can still go to those off-network facilities for your medical treatment and care, but don’t expect your medical insurance plan to provide you with the full coverage detailed in the plan.
Allwell sells a couple different network options to help you out and make life easier on you. The most common one is the HMO. This covers you just within their network. It is cheap and keeps things simple.
The other main option is the PPO, and this is the Allwell Medicare Advantage 2020 plan that is most useful for people who live outside of Allwell’s network area. If that’s you, then you should consider a PPO plan. They cost more than your average Medicare Advantage policy, but they can come in very useful for when you have to travel outside of your insurer’s network or when you live in more rural areas where network coverage is harder to find.
